About

I am a Chinese-American bilingual psychologist and therapist who works with individuals and couples in Berkeley, California. I use Psychodynamic Therapy to help increase understanding of life experiences in shaping your current difficulties. In therapy we will use our relationship to build self-awareness and understand the influence the past has on present behavior. This approach enables the client to resolve difficulties from the past in order to form new, rewarding, and successful experiences.

I work with a wide range of presenting problems and specialize in the treatment of trauma and in cross cultural issues. I provide therapy in English and Chinese. Along with providing therapy, I conduct research at Palo Alto University and VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. I have published a book chapter on Personality Disorders in the Encyclopedia of Human Behavior and presented at numerous conferences in the United States and Canada.
